It is said in India

that if you are walking on the road and if you get a coin of 2 Rupee then buy the bread of 1 Rupee and buy flower of other one Rupee as bread helps you to live and flower teaches you why to live.

Many people commented here to explain how flower teaches us why to live. Please know, in ancient Indian literature, there are many verses criticizing wicked people and admiring good people.

When it comes to good people, they are always compared with tree, river, cow, flowers etc. For example, tree gives shadow to everyone, even who is cutting it down. River is selfless service and does not partial. Cow is a gentle animal whose life is for others. The same way, flowers make a person happy. They give fragrance even to one who is crushing it. No person on this earth is unhappy seeing the flower.

The same way person should live the life for the cause of others. His appearance should be mild and should be cheering others. Whoever comes into his vicinity should be happy. He should to remain fresh as newly bloomed flower.

One more and most precious thing is that flower's life is very less and in that small life they try to cheer up others, the same way no matter how much the life is, one should try to brighten others as much possible.
